Maria + Gustavo: Wedding Invitation + Paper Goods
A modern, vintage Mexico-inspired invitation suite and wedding.
DWC created the perfect combination of old and new for this invitation suite, from the save the date to the main invite. Using elements of old-world Mexico with vintage-like, drawn map elements and cream textured paper, we added a modern twist with unique typography and an unconventional invitation fold.
One integral graphic treatment that is seen throughout the design was inspired by the Patron tequila bee icon. This bee mark symbolized one of their favorite drinks and their wedding destination in Guadalajara, Mexico, where the Patron tequila factory is located. So it wasn't a surprise that a tequila tasting and tour was on the itinerary and mini tequila bottles were given out as wedding favors.
There are a total 4 pieces to the main wedding invitation: the invite, a tri-fold map, the reply card self-mailer combo, and the main envelope to house all components. The printing was a combination of letterpress and offset for added texture and charm.
For the wedding day, we had custom die-cut bee escort cards placed on shot glasses and a favor tag that hung on the mini Patron tequila bottles.
